Too early to think about waxing, right? Wrong!
Okay, it’s the end of January which means we are officially counting down to summer. Think sunshine, the beach and cool cocktails. This also means it’s nearly bikini season (nooooo we hear you cry!) but this isn’t as scary as it sounds if you start prepping now. There is no better feeling than having hair free, smooth skin and regular waxing is the only way to achieve this.
Whether you are experienced in the treatment, or are considering having a wax for the first time, we have created this handy guide to make sure your experience is the best possible:
What wax is the best to use?
Okay, so we may be biased but we absolutely love Jax Wax (formally Adam and Eve). We spend a lot of time researching the best possible products and treatments for our clients so maybe we can be bias just this once?! Made in Australia for over twenty years, Jax Wax is one of the world leaders in waxing and aftercare. Not only is it 100% Vegan and paraben free, it creates wonderfully smooth results and it smells nice!
What kind of wax is best?
All Jax Wax is brilliant and gets outstanding results but we prefer to use the hot wax for facial and intimate waxing as it is gentler and shrink wraps the hair as opposed to sticking to the skin. We use strip wax for larger areas such as legs.

What should I do before my wax?
If you do have any health concerns please make us aware at the time of booking as with certain concerns we will require a doctor’s note.
We recommend using the “A Bit of Rough” wash cloth and the “Ruff Stuff” sugar scrub before in order to release hairs so they are ready to be waxed.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment. Natural fabrics are always best.

What are the different kinds of intimate waxing?
We get it, it’s embarrassing to ask, so here you go:
A quick wax in the crease of the legs outside of the knicker line only. Removes all visible pubic hair outside of the knickers at the front only. You should be able to wear a Bikini Knicker with no pubic hair showing outside.
High Leg Bikini
Hair is removed from the two side panels going in narrow, the top of pubic line and underneath going onto the buttocks. You should be able to wear a High Leg knickers with no pubic hair showing outside.
This leaves a landing strip that starts on the pubic mound, over the labia and tapers in narrow as it reaches the buttocks. High sides, top of pubic triangle, everything between the buttocks. You should be able to wear a pair of Thong knickers with no pubic hair showing outside.

What should I do after my wax?
Keep the area clean and dry
Use the “A bit of Rough” wash cloth and the “Ruff Stuff” sugar scrub to prevent ingrowing hairs (refrain from using this until 48 hours later)
Avoid hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only)
Avoid saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
Avoid tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).
Avoid sport, gym work or other exercise.
Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
Wear clean, loose fitting clothes.
Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
